Welcome to Flower Farmers Mastermind 2.0

Wanna spend 3 days with some of the most baddass flower growers in the country?

Yeah, Me Too!
Join Lennie Larkin and Ellen Polishuk at a retreat center outside of Portland, Oregon
for 3 days of immersive, intensive, facilitated conversations.
This isn't a conference where you are sitting in the back of the room trying to stay awake. This is a group of 24 experienced farmers sharing ideas and getting real with each other for 3 days of collaborative learning.

This is Flower Farmers Mastermind 2.0

December 2-5, 2025
Canby Grove Retreat Center

Who will be There?

This is a curated event. That means we are accepting folks who have at least 5 years of farm ownership under their belts, and are grossing a minimum of $100k in sales. We are accepting up to 22 growers. Above is a photo of Fl MM 1.0 a year ago.

That means you need to apply for the Mastermind, and we will be in touch with an acceptance letter. We will do our utmost to make sure we have the right people in the room so your experience is MAXIMAL.

What's included in the Cost? and Where is it?

We will gather at Canby Grove Retreat Center for 3 nights (begin Tuesday at 3pm, end Friday at 11am) We will eat all 8 meals together in their dining room.

The Center has “regular” hotel style accommodations. All will be comfortable!

Who is Lennie?

Lennie caught the flower bug while teaching farming at UC Santa Cruz in 2012, and then started and ran B-Side Farm for over a decade. In 2023 she wrote Flower Farming For Profit, and now coaches small-scale flower farmers on business, marketing, sales and strategy full time through courses, group coaching and consulting.

Who is Ellen?

Ellen started growing vegetables at age 17. She farmed for 30 years at Potomac Vegetable Farms in northern Virginia where she grew 10 acres of vegetables, herbs and cut flowers, along with 10 acres of soil building cover crops; managed hundreds of people over the years. She left the farm in 2017 and has been happily teaching, consulting and advising farmers from around the country ever since via her company Plant to Profit.

This event will change you and your farm forever

A Mastermind of this length and breadth will challenge and excite you in ways you haven’t been in years. You will make life long friends, come away with technical nuggets, and your heart will break open at least once, probably more.

Last years growers said this about what struck them most

Richness

"I am astonished at how very rich this time was. Far exceeded my expectations"

Surprising

"My preconceived notions about who would know more/offer more were dissolved, we all have very different strengths and areas where we shine and where we need a lot of help or are lacking. I loved to getting deeper throughout the time together, more comfortable, more vulnerable. "

Baddass Women

"I loved how many badass women were in the room- and that I got to be one of them! 🙂 Also, how scrappy (resourceful!) we all are sometimes! This industry is so different than others."

Financial Benchmarking

"It was helpful to learn income numbers from other farms and that our income goals are not "out there" or outside the real of possibilities. Helps me feel less hopeless about the possibility of being able to really support the lifestyle we want with our farm."

Supported Vulnerability

"I think that the participants’ vulnerability and willingness to share everything they know is what struck me most. I was blown away by the intelligence and capability of the people in the room. "

Better than a conference

"Way more useful than a conference and totally worth the expense"

Personalized Feedback

"This type of round table workshop offers a great breadth of "personal/circumstantial" information that one doesn't get at large conferences. "

Safe Space

"The space felt very safe and open- potent, practical and personal. It was amazing!"

Is now is the time for you to Swing Big and consider some real changes in your business?

You need to have 5 or more years experience running a farm business, and be grossing $100k+ in Sales

3 Ways we will work together on site

  1. Facilitated Conversation (the bulk of our time together): the group will discuss topics chosen and voted on in advance for allotted amounts of time. Topics have historically included everything from advanced labor management strategies, to increasing farm profit after reaching acreage capacity, to setting up retirement plans.
  2. Lightening Round: (quick and dirty palate cleansers to break up heavier conversations): For example: “What’s Your Favorite Office Hack?” and anyone with a suggestion will speak out!
  3. Hot Seat: this is when each participant has a set number of minutes (around 15-20) to become the sole focus of the group. You will share a problem/situation that you want input on, and then folks will weigh in. This will be our last activity together, and it is often the MOST impactful

Those who have been here before think You will love it...

"This Mastermind is next level stuff. I felt able to show up and be fully present as all my needs (nourishment, accommodations, etc.) were taken care of with thoughtful kindness. Throughout the entire experience, I felt held by the good, capable hands of Ellen and Lennie as our facilitators. 10/10, 5 stars, would recommend! "
Leah Rodgers, Indigo Gardens, OR
"It's hard to describe how impactful it is to be in the same room with other farming professionals with diverse experiences and skill sets who are all invested in helping each other, sharing lessons learned, and lifting each other up. Ellen and Lennie did a wonderful job crafting an environment in which something so special can happen."
Ellen Kerchner, Ellen's Flowers, CO
"The wealth of practical tips and wisdom I gathered will take months to implement, but the potential impact on my farm is immense."
Elisa Lane, Two Boots Farm, MD
"Our connections have lasted well past the actual mastermind! The virtual support from farmers on certain issues has been so good- Rebecca helping me with quick H2A questions, MaryBeth and I being accountability buddies through her new farm stand opening for mother's day and recently a phone call with Elisa about manager turnover! Wow- it's so nice to talk to people who know not just "about" what I'm going though, but they've lived it too!" Maggie Taylor, Delight Flower Farm, IL
"Gathering with peers at a similar place in our businesses was invaluable, but having Lennie and Ellen were there to guide, dig in and steer us through the most pressing topics got us to all those useful juicy bits! "
Deena Miller, Sweet Roots Farm, CA
" I wasn't sure what to expect from the format but I walked away with concrete action steps for my farm and a place in a bigger, beautiful flower farmer community. The curated cohort of participants ensured a fruitful and powerful exchange of ideas and understanding. "
"Farming can be such a lonely pursuit, but now it feels like I have 20 other people who are cheering me on all over the country."
